Q: Is this/are you real? A: Very real, on both counts. I've posted a condensed, verifiable resume on the "About Me" page. I'm also very active online (MySpace, blog sites, boards, etc). A: Well, I don't keep it all. 15% goes right back to you; the donors who get chosen and donate the most. Over $8,000 will need to be earmarked for taxes, and PayPal takes its cut too. Unfortunately, since the PayPal fee structure is dependent upon not only the total donations but also the size of individual donations, PayPal can't predict a specific rate for me. That leaves me with approximately $8,000 to be combined with the $2,000 - $3,000 I'll net from my settlement. That amount will pay some of my debt and hopefully allow for some of the down payment so I can get a new place to live. Q: What if you receive more than $20,000? A: I'll use the money to start a 501(c)3 charitable organization to benefit people who've been dealt a low blow and need temporary help, as further described in #3 here. One thing I've learned from this experience is that financial assistance for a regular person who just needs a little boost is severely lacking in this country. Q: Can I get a link to my site/company/band/etc if I make a contribution? A: Certainly. I take care of those who help take care of me. If you donate more than $50, I'll post a link to you on my frontpage. Please include your request for a link and the URL as a note to me in PayPal Q: COOL! I want to donate a lot, can I get a *huge* ad on your frontpage A: I'll consider something more like an "ad" for donations over $200, but I won't / can't run anything for certain types of busineses or groups. If this is what you're looking for, please email me with a proposed donation, description of your business, and what you want run. I'll get back to you ASAP. Q: I don't have a PayPal account. A: Well, it's not really a question, but it's not really a problem either. Just click the donate button, and enter your information.
